I took an infopass appointment last october and my FBI name check status was pending. After seeing the USCIS memo on march4th that all namecheck pending for 180 days has been cleared by feb 28th 2009, i went again for an infopass appt last week. IO toldme that my namecheck is still pending.
So i contacted my senators office same day and sent all my info along with the USCIS memo. Next day senators office called me back and told me that they called USCIS and came to know that my name check has been cleared. Senators office told me that infopass information could be wrong or may not have been updated.
IS that a possibility ? any inputs ?

For what it's worth, I can totally understand why someone wouldn't want to use a DataGrid. The day that I happily use one will probably be the same day that all of my ambitions about life come to an end. Their corporate component-ness is hard to shake, and being told that they can be "skinned and customized" just forewarns of the fun times that you and your pal the DataGrid are going to have in the coming, sleepless nights ahead. :tired:

I had a VERY SIMILAR question
In my case it is simple. Current Immigration status and Manner of last entry is both H1B
In Spouse's case however here is the issue. She has used her EAD and she travelled last year using the AP.
So this is what I wrote under the 2 questions:
14) Manner of last entry: "PAROLEE"
15) Current Immigration Status: "Adjustment Of Status Pending".
IS THAT CORRECT?

The Web site for the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez (http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/h1n1.html) reflects that most consular services that were suspended until May 8, 2009, will remain suspended until May 15, 2009.
Once the consular services for immigrant and non-immigrant visas begin operating again, we can only imagine the huge backlogs that will exist for visa applicants. According to consular officials and a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) local office at a State Bar of Texas meeting, the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez is the largest in the world. There are numerous processings of visas taking place at Ciudad Juarez per day. The consulate processes between 800-1200 immigrant visas each day, 1,000 non-immigrant visas each day, 70-150 waivers each day, and 50-100 various other services for U.S. citizens.
Once the consulate begins its daily operations, applicants should arrive 15 minutes prior to their appointments. There is a parking lot across the street from the consulate, in the Centro Commercial. Before walking to the consulate, it is important that applicants leave their cell phones and any other electronic devices in their cars. After checking that all electronic devices and other prohibited items are left in the car, the applicants will enter the building and go through security. After going through security, they will be issued numbered tickets. All U.S. citizens should be prepared to present their passports (or passport cards if traveling by land) beginning June 1, 2009. After their interviews, a courier service, DHL, will deliver their visas within 2-3 days.

Many folks who are in h1b their spouses in h4 will be aware that they will not receive any stimulus package and they would not have received in 2008. Becuase the spouse cannot get SSN and without SSN no stimulus package even for the h1 holder.
Now 2009 another stimulus package is going to come, can folks in the same boat join together and can we do something , bring some awareness of this issue , so that we are atleast eligible for stimulus package.

We are not getting Green card, atleast give us stimulus package relief.

Hi,
I am wondering what conclusion (if any) can be drawn from LUD? On USCIS website my I-140 case shows LUD to be 05/09/2007 and hence was wondering what does it mean ? When I click on my case on the online case status website (of USCIS) still provides old data only and does not reflect the status for LUD...
Regards,
kamdard.

Should the job title for PERM labor filing be in Job Zone 5 to qualify under EB2 category? Or could one apply in Job Zone 4 and still qualify for a EB2? Also, does having an MBA, exempt a person from EB quota under any of the proposed bills like STEM, SKIL, PACE, TALENT or should it have to be an MS in Engineering.
A quick response would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure about the first question. SKIL bill will exempt any advanced degree from US or Advanced degree in STEM from outside + 3 Years. PACE, TALENT and the current CIR only exempt STEM Advanced degree + 3 Yrs

As a service to our readers we publish local ceremony dates. If USCIS approves your application for naturalization, you must attend a ceremony and take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States. USCIS will notify you by mail of the time and date of your ceremony.
The notice USCIS sends you is called the "Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony" (Form N-445). In some cases, USCIS may give you the option to take the Oath on the same day as your interview. If you decide to take a "same day" oath, USCIS will ask you to come back to the office later that day. At this time, you will take the Oath and receive your Certificate of Naturalization.
If you cannot go to the oath ceremony, you should return the "Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony" (Form N-445) that USCIS sent to you. You should send the N-445 back to your local office. Include a letter saying why you cannot go to the ceremony. Make a copy of the notice and your letter before you send them to USCIS. Your local office will reschedule you and send you a new "Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony" (Form N-445) to tell you when your ceremony will be.

Here's an example of my first outing with my new lens, shooting birds in a nature preserve bird feeder area. I used a monopod on a cloudy day. I didn't realize how quick those little buggers can be. I shot manual and found the autofocus to be irritating at times. Any feedback on doing this kind of shooting would be appreciated.

In my case I applied for my MIL visa extension on March 15th. We received the approval last week. Her I-94 expired on May 15th, we chose to wait till we heard the decision.
I only requested for 4 months. Also, this is the second extension I applied for my MIL and this is her 4th visit to US. My take, you should be good as long as you state a valid reason and show good financial support..

This is a recent USCIS update announcing that any U.S. citizen seeking to adopt a Nepali child, whose case is not affected by the suspension of processing cases involving Nepali children claimed to have been found abandoned, should file the Form I-600 with the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu.
This change in the filing location for the Form I-600 petitions applies to two groups of prospective adoptive parents who are not affected by the suspension. The first group is those who received a referral letter from the Government of Nepals Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare before Aug. 6, 2010, informing them of a proposed match of an abandoned child. The second group is those who seek to adopt Nepali children who were relinquished by known parent(s) and whose identity and relationship can be confirmed.
USCIS strongly encourages prospective adoptive parents to follow this procedure for their own benefit, based on growing concerns about unreliable documents, irregularities in the methods used to identify children for adoption in Nepal, and the resulting difficulties in classifying those children as orphans under U.S. immigration law. Please see the Aug. 6, 2010 announcement online regarding the suspension.
