“Prometheus” set pics leaked; Patrick Wilson joins cast

By Adam Frazier
Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” film crew has occupied most of the stages at Pinewood Studios in England for the past three months. The film, a sorta-kinda-but not really prequel to Scott’s 1979 film, “Alien,” now moves on to location shoots in Morocco.
AlienPrequelNews has the scoop on several leaked photos showing sets being torn down and props thrown away at Pinewood Studios.

One photo that stands out in particular is the one above showing an airlock door. The prop is marked “Magellan mess deck.” While photos of airlock doors, rocket engines and crates are fascinating, there’s some juicy images of weird H.R. Giger-esque moulds and set pieces straight out of “Alien.”

Perhaps the most intriguing is what appears to be a map, etched on the floor of an area described as the alien “cave.” Maybe the Spacey Jockey uses this navigational grid to locate Earth — or perhaps it’s an artifact that displays the coordinates of the Space Jockey’s home world?

In related news, The St. Petersburg Times has confirmed that actor Patrick Wilson (“Watchmen”) is involved with Ridley Scott’s film, writing, “Wilson will need to leverage everything he’s learned from Shorecrest to a new role in the highly anticipated Alien prequel Prometheus (directed by original Alien auteur Ridley Scott) for his latest challenge — creating a rare TV drama success on Fridays.”
